The guy in the front of the left boat is my grandfather, Lucius LeBlanc...a store owner in Coteau Rodaire, member of first SLEMCO Board of Directors in 1935, and a member of St. Martin Parish School Board. Old Deer Hunters- About 1947
(l. to r.) Lenor Hardy, Fondol Guidroz, Kellogg ____, Hot Bergeron, _____ Cormier, Cap Chautin, Jules Roy (squatting in front), Batiste LeBlanc (in back with dark vest), Clesmay LeBlanc (with gun, leaning), Unknown Game Warden (with suit and hat), Daniel Miller, Unknown, Maurice Knott. It was rumored that the unknown game warden came to the camp to verify that everything killed by this group was legal. However, after they gave him a big meal and several drinks he became their good friend and posed with them for this photo. -

The camp in the background was the first camp built on the road between the pontoon bridge and Butte La Rose. It was built by men from Coteau Rodaire and when completed was reported to have cost $60 in materials and $600 in beer!!! It was aptly named "Camp La Rose." -
