On the first Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m., join us at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home. Everyone is invited to attend. The residents always inspire us. This group was started on February 6, 2014, and follows the format of the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network meeting. There is singing, praying and recitation of special intentions by all who attend.
Each month, a family from the area is invited to participate. Some families bring photographs to help the residents remember days gone by.
Nonco conducted these same meetings when he was a parishioner at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville. Now, the nursing home residents distribute leaflets to members of the nursing home community. The Nonco Group of the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network is continuing the work of Nonco. In Nonco's time, tthe group was called the League of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Now, the group is the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network.
On the first Friday of each month at 9:30 a.m., join the Nonco Group at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home. The group practices the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, requesting to know and to love everything the Sacred Heart of Jesus loves and secondly, to take on the attitude of the Sacred Heart and to express that attitude in everything that we do in our lives.
After the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is recited, the Litany of the Sacred Heart follows. Next is the Act of Reparation to Our Savoir's Sacred Heart.
Of course, the group prays for the Souls in Purgatory.
One of the residents, Lou Thomas, wrote "Prayer By The Dying" in November, 1999. We recite that prayer and the Prayer of Reparation to the Sacred Heart.
We always welcome participation by our Christian community. Please join us.
On Good Friday of each year, The Nonco Group lead the participants at J. M. Morrow Memorial Nursing Home and members of the area Christian community in The Celebration of Christ's Passion.followed by "Jesus Speaks From The Cross." This is a powerful way for the residents of the nursing home to prepare for Easter Sunday.
