Foundation Story

  • With a burning desire to see Auguste "Nonco" Pelafigue canonized, Jerry Richard, native of Arnaudville, presently residing in Baton Rouge, began exploring the possibility of forming a group to work on canonizing Nonco.  Jerry's mother, Wilma Miller Richard, was one of Nonco's devoted followers and relatives.  As a child Jerry had accompanied her as she delivered the Sacred Heart Leaflets each month.

Jerry approached Betty Roy and the two of them worked together for two years to form the corporation.
On June 6, 2012, Jerry filed the Articles of Incorporation with the Louisiana Secretary of State.

The process is long but it must be started. Join the Foundation and work to keep Nonco's legacy alive. With prayers, hard work, and Nonco looking over our shoulders, anything is possible!

    Blessed Mother
From the prayer card of Cecile Pelafigue LeBlanc
    10-20-1918 - 4-25-2011

    MEMORARE
Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to Thy protection, implored Thy help, and sought Thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto Thee, O Virgin of virgins, My Mother! To Thee I come; before Thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. Oh, Mother of the Word Incarnate! Despise not my petitions, but, in Thy mercy, Hear and answer me.
    Amen
